Charles Naginski (1909-1940)

Just to verify: This composer's (who died tragically in 1940) unpublished works are PD in the US and Canada, yes?

DOS attack?

So what's going on with IMSLP? When I go there I get a 502 "Bad Gateway." Is this a denial of service attack?

Keys

I've recently discovered an invisible template for designation of keys, e.g. {{K|A}} = A major.

Should we begin to supply this with all works?

Re: Irving Berlin: Ziegfeld Follies of 1927

Thanks done. I made a bit of a mess - I accidentally uploaded it to the regular servers; then realizing my mistake I re-uploaded them to the US server (but under the wrong tab, rather than the "arrangements" tab). I hope it doesn't cause too much work. And ultimately people get a lot of ni...

Irving Berlin: Ziegfeld Follies of 1927

I'd like to upload a few songs by Irving Berlin from the Ziegfeld Follies of 1927. They're all copyright 1927 so it should be ok on the US server (which I see you've removed the link to it on Berlin's page).

Sheet Music Consortium project?

I see IMSLP has various projects to import scores from various sources - for example the "Sibley Project" imports scores scanned by the Eastman/University of Rochester.

Might it be worthwhile to have a project that systematically imports music from the Sheet Music Consortium?

Becce: Grand Appassionato

I'd like to request to upload this short work (2 pages) which is copyrighted 1926. Thus it is PD in the U.S. (where I am uploading from) - and would upload it to the U.S. Server. Please provide instructions on how to do that. (Incidentally (excuse the pun), this music is used for the end title of th...

Uploading a score PD in the US but not in Canada

I'd like to upload a score by Giuseppe Becce. The score is copyright 1926 so it's public domain in the U.S. (where I am located) but not in Canada. I know there used to be an option of loading such scores to the "American server" but I don't see that option at all. What can I do?

If the player really cared, they can contact the arranger and indicate what are the problems privately.

Contacting a user

I've been using/contributing to IMSLP for so long and I've never figured out how to send a message to a user. On a normal wiki one can just leave a message on their talk page. I don't see how one can do that here. Can anyone help?

Silent Film Scores and Arrangements

The Library of Congress has released a new digitized collection, Silent Film Scores and Arrangements. Lots of interesting things:

Re: Registration for ISMNs?

I think this is related. About 2 years ago on Wikipedia I asked whether they could make live links to ISMN as they do with ISBNs. An administrator explained that, unlike ISBN which have a registered web presence, ISMN does not, so until they do, one can not create live links.

Re: create score

A few months ago there was someone here who was offering to create scores from uploads that were only parts. Actually I was looking for that post because I found a work for which I'd like to see a score: https://imslp.org/wiki/K%C3%B6niggr%C3% ... Gottfried)

Jón Leifs and other Icelandic names

I note the Icelandic composer Jón Leifs is here listed as one might expect, Leifs, Jón. However, both the Library of Congress and Wikipedia explain that In Iceland what we might call the surname is really a patronymic, so the true name is Jón [son of] Leifs. For this reason both of those organizatio...
