Thank you coulonnus, I used the keyboard in the link, but it doesn't respond to the mouse. Maybe the fault is mine, but I have Javascript enabled and working, though accessing through IMSLP it warns 'Error: Javascript must be enabled'. I found a transient solution. Rotate the page 90 degrees, provided you have a portable computer, which you can turn one side up. I had never thought of it!

I believe Gsview and its prerequisite GhostScript do the job. Start zooming on the upper half of p.1 of a multiple-page document.
