What Horndude said is exactly why I don't allow external score links in IMSLP. I know CPDL does have such links, but I don't like that for the reasons Horndude gave. I'm quite aware of the Variations project going on at that site, and I have been meaning to write a script that will automatically con...

Well... the problem (and why there are missing info) is mainly because at this point in time, what IMSLP needs is not thorough research about a piece, but just lots of scores. Someone else asked me via e-mail about nearly the same thing a few months back, and it still hasn't changed. The truth is, n...

While what you said about MUS files being much smaller (and much more legible too) is very true, there are several reasons why IMSLP has mainly scans: 1. Scans are MUCH less work than retypesetting; that's part of the reason why IMSLP can have as big a collection as it has now. Imagine retypesetting...

Thanks Peter! I might remove the bad file at a later date (perhaps along with cleaning up the Bach category, which is a mess right now). This is mainly because the IMSLP catalogue is designed to prevent file deletion (because it is rarely needed, and also to prevent irreversible vandalism). Removing...

Hmm... that does involve some amount of work depending on what OS you use. I personally use Linux so it's not all that hard to extract images from PDF, flip them, and then remake the PDF file. But for Windows I don't know of a way short of commercial programs. I suppose you can try to print the upsi...

The complete Bach-Gesellschaft edition in PDF, a 1.3 GB torrent. This is scanned from the 1850 edition so it is public domain http://www.demonoid.com/torrents/download/HTTP/224623/SheetmusicJSBachComple2580072_Demonoid.torrent Hmm... currently there is an ongoing project on the Bach page which invo...

Someone asked me the exact same question over e-mail, and the answer is that indeed it *would* be a pain. However, even though I know it would be hard for people to get their hands on scores over 70 years old in copyright, nonetheless there is one publisher that makes this possible: Dover Publicatio...
