Re: Grand choeur

I am afraid I disagree. Grand Choeur is not a Chorale ( un choral , in French), but an piece of organ in a style and registration originally supposed to imitate a "grand choeur" , a full choir. Si sur un clavier, on ajoute aux fonds de 16, 8 et 4 pieds le tutti d'anches bombarde-trompette-...

Re: Needing a translation

These are two abbreviations, the first one for "autorisation" (authorization) as you rightly guessed, and the second one for "ancienne" (former).

Re: Clementi, piano sonatas, Kalmus/Belwin mills

Coulonnus, you may have noticed that Sibley has released some Clementi published by Peters:

It is the second edition I was mentioning above.

Re: IMSLP in Russian

Thank you for the link and the interesting discussion there, but the legal grounds are totally different between the rights for a data base and the rights for reproductions of images. Their only common point is that many complain about them!

Re: IMSLP in Russian

Actually many countries recognize there are rights in a data base, even if the data are public domain, because they ackowledge that the constitution of the data base has necessitated work, ideas, etc. The IMSLP collection is thus entitles rights in these countries. However, since the goal of the gen...

Re: IMSLP in Russian

That site is completely unaffiliated with Project Petrucci LLC (it's also unaffiliated with IMSLP-US and IMSLP-EU). It's been there for at least a couple years, I think, and I'm not sure there's anything that can be done about it - I don't think IMSLP is a registered trademark or anything, so it's ...

I confirm. It has mine too ! It seems to have all the scores available from the original IMSLP, but without mentioning who scanned them and all that stuff.

Re: Clementi, piano sonatas, Kalmus/Belwin mills

It seems that there are at least two Peters collections of the same 24 sonatas. The first one, senior one, revised by Louis Köhler and,F. A. Roitzsch has plate numbers 6435, 6436, 5738 and ???. The second one, junior one, revised by Ruthard, has plate numbers 8915, 9345, 8049 and 8792. This one has ...

Re: Clementi, piano sonatas, Kalmus/Belwin mills

Then could you please compare your Cahier II, p. 22 with http://imslp.org/wiki/3_Piano_Sonatas,_Op.40_(Clementi,_Muzio) Sonata No.1 scanned by piupanissimo? No, sorry, Cahier II is the only one I do NOT have ! But it clearly seems to be two different Peters editions, the one scanned being more rece...

Re: Donizetti, Le départ du volontaire

A piece "Le départ du Volontaire" by Donizetti is listed here , as a chant guerrier à deux voix (war song for two voices) ; it is marked for piano and not for guitar ; it was one of the scores of the Bibliothèque catholique de Termonde (Belgium) in 1847. The version on IMSLP, which is for ...

Re: Daniel Auber - Gigue

In spite of what says the video title, it is not a gigue by Daniel Auber but by Jacques Aubert.
http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Aubert,_Jacques
The sought after gigue is probably the final movement of one of the several sonates he wrote for "violon et basse continue".

Re: Gossec, Rosine ou L'épouse abandonnée, opera

It seems from this book that there exist three different (manuscript ?) versions of a gavotte called Rosine, dating back to 1786 (i.e. the same year as the opera), under references RH318a, RH318b and RH318c. You might want to contact the author of the book, Claude Role at the Centre de musique baroq...
