Re: How can I say n.d.[<date>] in the Publisher Information?

Thanks. It works when I edit an existing work page, but will it be possible if I upload a new work under the modern skin? I have no new work at this moment to do the test.

Re: higher quality and less bandwidth by conversion to vector formats

Also read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SmartScore It converts images to MIDI and to MusicXML. I think the best bandwidth advice is: retypeset it! :-)

Re: higher quality and less bandwidth by conversion to vector formats

Without moving to a vector format, the information theory makes bitmap images much smaller if they represent clean figures than if they represent dirty images. A typical typeset pdf page is about 15 kB big and a decent scanned page is about 100 kB big. When I convert a typeset pdf to tif, change the...

Re: M.G. Fischer's and J.E. West's organ works editing

Thanks. If I trim the "copyright" page and the empty pages I obtain a 70-MB pdf. Big but acceptable for imslp. If I convert it to monochrome, trim the margins etc it will be about 30-MB big. Do you think it is worth doing this work? Is this version better than the 2 other I found? (3rd edi...

Re: M.G. Fischer's and J.E. West's organ works editing

I can't find this signature for Fischer. The 2 results I get are: 5th edition http://reader.digitale-sammlungen.de/de/fs1/object/display/bsb10525249_00007.html and 3rd edition http://reader.digitale-sammlungen.de/de/fs1/object/display/bsb10525250_00005.html . Please provide the URL if none of these ...

Re: Porpora Manuscript - Polifemo

Try http://www.worldcat.org/ Besides the modern editions there is a result at British Library, but British Library is not BNF for online scores :-(

Re: Automatic music theme search.

Do you have another browser? Often site developers make a version that works with their browser by chance but fails with another browser.

I am not aware of time value inputs.

Re: Automatic music theme search.

If you "switch back to classic skin" (very bottom of the imslp page) you see in the left column: Browse score, by Melody, but the interface has changed.

You can also go directly to http://www.peachnote.com/

Re: "Public domain" scores from the Bibliothèque nationale de France

If you download the 400-dpi images directly with a series of links like http://gallica.bnf.fr//iiif/ark:/12148/btv1b52500522z/f001/full/full/0/native.jpg you don't see the copyright notices. Search "gallica.bnf.fr//iiif/ark" with Google and you will find quite a few pages recommending this...

@copyrighted: http://imslp.org/wiki/Fantaisie,_Op.49_(Chopin,_Fr%C3%A9d%C3%A9ric) Schlesinger, Plate 3489 is in my collection (except the cover). I can rescan it in colors for your CD or video, if it helps. Which resolution do you need?

Re: "Public domain" scores from the Bibliothèque nationale de France

Note that in the first two copyright pages Gallica=BNF appends to each pdf you download, they invoke https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sui_generis_database_right for their copyright claim. In the 90's, before this law existed, when I ordered a reproduction from BNF I had to check their box "for my ...
