An Important analysis of digital “open access” policies.
Yale University last week announced a new policy on “open access to digital representations of works in the public domain” from Yale’s museum, library, and archive collections. http://www.odai.yale.edu/ The policy is based on several considerations. These were addressed in a memorandum by a Universi...

Morgan Library Online Scores
Anybody know how to download high-resolution files that Morgan displays in a Flash viewer? Some exciting materials, http://www.themorgan.org/music/manuscriptList.asp , supposedly "may be printed out for study, or downloaded for classroom presentations, dissertations, or non-commercial Web sites...

Unable to download non-score file?
I am trying to download Generoso's instructions from http://imslp.org/wiki/User_talk:Kalliwoda#SLUB , but when I click on the link there ( http://imslp.org/wiki/File:SLUB_saving.pdf ), I get an Error page: "Requested file not yet officially submitted to IMSLP." What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

No longer possible to browse by lyricists or arrangers?
Is it no longer possible to browse through only lyricists? Now the choice is only to browse composers or "all people"? That would be a pity. Or is there a new link or button that I've missed?

Re: Who has good scans of 1890s American popular songs?
Thanks for the tip. I'll try there, though LoC and Johns Hopkins are among the places where I've been finding weak scans. It seems that colorful cover pages sometimes receive more careful attention than the music itself. Olmsted.

Who has good scans of 1890s American popular songs?
I've been looking at sheet music for American popular songs of the 1890s -- things like After the Ball, The Band Played On, Sidewalks of New York -- and most of the free scans I'm finding on line are not very good quality. Maybe adequate on the screen, but I wish they were clearer when printed. Have...

Composer vs. Editor/Arranger
I just uploaded The Cowley Carol Book to composer G.R. Woodward, but perhaps it belongs instead under composer Various? Please adjust as you prefer. Thanks.

Re: Community Project Standardization
Gentlemen -- I have no basis for an opinion on Community Project Standardization, but it brings to mind a concern that I meant to raise some time ago. (I joined these forums only last month but have been a member of the site proper for more than two years.) This is the Admins' playground, where they...

Re: Chopin Category
More generally, when are English spellings of non-English names acceptable here? Or, when are non-English spellings required? I recall seeing a policy on this somewhere but can't find it at the moment.

Allow links to books' txt or etext?
Any other thoughts on this subject?: "For books, has there been any discussion among the admins about allowing here either txt or etext or links to Project Gutenberg? It seems a pity to have only images of important prose works in this era of e-readers. If you want to read a text, why not be ab...

Yes, fine. Just curious for now. I hope that server log retention (or deletion) will be described for imslp and for imslpforums. Thanks for your interim response.

Also, what about cdsheetmusic.com?
On the "Other music score websites" page: why were cdsheetmusic.com deleted from the list of commercial providers? If there is something negative to say about them, it would be preferable to add that information (and restore the original listing) to assist imslp users. Is there some other ...
