Re: Piece showing with wrong score

Try re-uploading your arrangement but change the file's name before you do so as it appears that you were using the same file name as that of Manuel Pancorbo's arrangement. The system detected the file you were uploading as a duplicate of that existing file.

Re: Creating a template listing Rimsky-Korsakov's operas

Using the Cui template is probably the best way to do it. If you want to change the background color to something different you can find a list of web safe colors with their decimal equivalents here: web colors.

Re: The secret archives of the Library of Congress

The problem is that the online catalog reflects only a fraction of the LOC's entire collection. See: About the LC Online Catalog . According to the scope section: "Library of Congress collections contain over 162 million books, periodicals, manuscripts, maps, music, recordings, images, and elec...

Re: Problem creating own composer page, and having scores deleted

It appears that the problem was due to a composer page existing for you that was improperly named: your first and last names were switched. I've moved your composition to the correct category (Frykman, Gervais) and have associated your username with that category. See if you can upload scores now.

Re: Locked - No Printing Allowed - pdf question.

For whatever reason the Classical Music Library of Thailand Project who produced those parts set security restrictions on those files to, among other things, prevent printing. I don't understand the motive for doing that to a file posted under a Creative Commons license but I was able to use a softw...

Re: My plans for the 'List of Compositions Featuring the Double Bass' page

I get the impression that these "List of Compositions Featuring the ..." pages pre-date the category walker system and many have been abandoned in terms of being manually updated. No major updates have been done to the double bass page since 2009. In my opinion you are welcome to modify an...

Re: uploading a library

I don't think isozvaillancourt means that the works are actually from the Library of Congress but was using that as an example. A template could be created that could go in either the scanner field or in the miscellaneous notes. Part of the function of the template would be to include the work page ...

Re: Copyright info on W. E. Haesche (1867-1929)

Since it was first published in 1901 it is in the pubic domain in the United States since any work published before 1923 is public domain in the U.S. And, of course, it is in the public domain in both Canada and the E.U. since the composer died over 50 (and 70 for the E.U.) years ago. The work can c...

Re: Copyright info on W. E. Haesche (1867-1929)

I'm not even finding the Souvenir de Wieniawski No. 1 in any of the volumes for new registrations in the mid 1920s. Worldcat notes his Souvenir de Wieniawski No. 2 was published in 1908 and lists a Souvenir de Wieniawski. Mazurka characteristique as being published in 1892. It's possible that the da...

Re: Copyright info on W. E. Haesche (1867-1929)

If you would provide the title of the piece I'll check the Catalog of Copyright Entries to make certain it wasn't renewed. If the work is in the public domain you are certainly free to make your own edition of it.

Re: Composer mixed up with his brother (Labro)

In this particular case I would say create the new composer and move the three concertinos to his category and then we should delete the Antoine Auguste Labro category since our intention isn't to equate the two people as being one and the same as was the case with Edouard Nanny and Édouard Nanny. S...

Re: Copyright info on W. E. Haesche (1867-1929)

In the 1953 Catalog of Copyright Entries in see renewals for two works of his -- Masca and Nadina -- which were renewed by his widow. Those two works will be under copyright in the U.S. until Jan. 1, 2021. Haesche's works are already in the public domain in both Canada (50 years post mortem) and the...
