Haydn Cello conc C major Kalmus

Hi, what is the status of the Kalmus Haydn Cello concerto cat A8005 "Edited by" Karel Šolc (1893-1985) and Oldřich Pulkert (b.1929). No copyright notice, no date. The print seems to be an old edition reprint, possibly with bracketed expressive markings, but no preface to say what the edito...

Re: Upcoming changes

I was surprised and angered to see the new subscription system on IMSLP. This was incorporated suddenly and without community discussion beforehand. Since we have a huge number of active patrons and volunteers visiting this library, I was mystified as to why there was not extensive consultation on t...

Interesting article on new editons of PD works in Canada

Hi All, I thought I would pass this along from the CANMUS-L. An interesting article on Canadian copyright law as it pertains to printed music was brought to my attention to our copyright librarian, so I thought I would share: Laroche, Guillaume, "Settling the Score: Copyright in Modern Editions...

500000 downloads per day?

I see that we have cracked the half-million mark

Number of downloads for Aug 03, 2015: 505947

Was that just a counter glitch or did it really happen? Also... does this total include all the servers (EU, CA, USA, ... )? Thanks.

USA copyright warnings at cross purposes

Many pages have a USA copyright warning at the top of the page - saying that it is unlikely the work is PD. This warning cannot be changed - it seems to be a system message that remains even after someone has searched for the copyright registration and found the work to be likely PD or certainly not...

Number-of-downloads counters stuck at zero?

Are there download counters for works on the CA server? The values given, seem to be stuck at zero or other small numbers.

Matthew Locke Consort Music / NYPL

Four Suites made from Consort Music edited by Sydney Beck (1906-2001) New York Public Library Music Publications (produced by Edition Peters) copyright 1947 It looks a lot like URTEXT with footnotes on changes from manuscript etc. and no ornamentation has been added. Dynamic markings are by the edit...

Re: MLA Conference, Atlanta, USA Feb 26-Mar 2

I wish to thank all those who attended the ''IMSLP Conversation over Lunch'' at the MLA Conference. It was a pleasure to meet face-to-face some of the poeple I had only known as a friendly 'alias' on these forums. Discussion topics were sheet music scanning methods and quality, the Sibley Mirroring ...

Re: Music publisher catalogs

Carolus, while we are on the subject, what exactly is the copyright status of publishers' catalogues? Are they treated as simple data (i.e. not really copyrightable) or perhaps an artistically chosen repertoire (copyrightable). Also, is there any interest in hosting the catalogue excerpts that one u...

MLA Conference, Atlanta, USA Feb 26-Mar 2

Music Library Association Conference Atlanta, GA I am wondering if anyone will be representing IMSLP, or if any other IMSLP regulars are going to Atlanta for the conference. It might be interesting to discuss some of the current issues here over something-nice-to-drink, if not in a more formal setti...

Use of Wikitable on normal page

I am trying to use a table within our standard #fte:imslppage template. No luck so far. Is there a special way to do this? I am trying to link multiple work pages from a collection page. The page will end up much smaller if I can use a table, rather than bullet points (which do work fine). Thanks.

Re: DIAMM and IMSLP

Quoting from AndrewHankinson: DIAMM is a digitization agent. They do the actual, physical work. Thank you. This dispute is the first I have heard of your project. The scans on the DIAMM website are some of the best I have ever seen. The works available are treasures indeed. Many of them consider tha...
