Re: Jaca Manuscript

I had the impression from somewhere that it was in private hands, but more likely in the archives of La Catedral de Jaca as hinted by this footnote: https://books.google.com/books?id=L_HDx_z2AaIC&pg=PA252&lpg=PA252&dq=Higinii+Anglés+de+jaca&source=bl&ots=BVeWZDFr0a&sig=j8JELn...

Re: Weird "Live MIDI" bug

I had a similar experience. A Live Midi "performance" appeared the moment I uploaded a Cabanilles pdf. I have no idea what the Live Midi performance is as they will not play on my Mac/Safari. Seems like a not useful feature.

Re: revisions not implemented

Nothing has changed on my two "test pages" (Paulsson Symphony F-Dur (Complete Score) and Brandenburgisches Konzert 4 (continuo by Gonzales)). The bug is still there. Same here. Last night the revision of Cabanilles Tiento No.34 downloaded, and today the unrevised version downloaded. Maybe...

Re: File revision not implemented?

Or some servers do not update at all? The not updated file in the example "Brandenburg 4" is about 2 years old. It sure seems so. I just downloaded the Tiento No.34 and the unrevised edition appeared after more than two weeks. (The revision version is shown in the score header: should be ...

Re: File revision not implemented?

I had what may be a similar experience when I uploaded a revision to Cabanilles Tiento No.34 on October 13. When I tested up to three days after uploading, I found that sometimes the old edition downloaded, and sometimes the revised edition downloaded – seemingly randomly. May be that some of the se...

Re: Plug-in for iMac

You can install QuickTime Player 7. If you control-click the download button and save the MIDI file, you will (likely) be prompted to install QuickTime Player 7 when you double-click to open the file.

Re: Mediawiki Score Extension.

Thanks to cypressdome! This works perfectly: |Incipit=<score raw="1"> \header { tagline = "" } global = { \set Staff.extraNatural = ##f \key a \minor \time 4/4 } \parallelMusic #' (voiceA voiceB voiceC voiceD) { % 01 d1 | d1 | d1 | d,1 | % 02 | | | | % 03 | | | | % 04 | | | | } \...

Re: Mediawiki Score Extension.

Is it possible to do a 4-voice keyboard incipit? I tried it with a working Lilypond file, but got nothing but text spread around the page. I could have missed something, of course. It would be nice to have a template if someone (sharper than me) could develop one.

Re: MIDI sound levels

If I read right, you want to 'normalize' the recordings. This brings the overall level to maximum without compressing the dynamic range. Audacity does this in Effects, or you can drag the file to Garage Band and create a new one in the Share menu, changing the format (or not) as you wish. In MIDI (n...

Re: Books on melodic intervals?

"On the Sensations of Tone" by Hermann Helmholtz (Dover reprint) is a pretty interesting read, even if it dates from the 1870's.

Nearer, My God, to Thee (Mason, Lowell)

was previously added as 'Bethany', so should be deleted as a duplicate. Fun with multiple titles!
