Re: Respighi - Pini di Roma

Yes, Pines is public domain in the US as of this year. In fact, Luck's Music is apparently already selling a reprint set of parts:

Re: Schoenberg and Berg

I uploaded the preface and score to the Schoenberg as separate files. (You can yank the preface when you're done, or both of them if it's not PD.) It has both the 1952 and 1972 remarks by Hoffmann, but the 1952 page seems to indicate that he didn't edit much at all besides measure numbers, Hauptstim...

Schoenberg and Berg

I have two ready-to-upload scans of pieces that are definitely on the copyright borderline. The first one is the 1949 version of Schoenberg's 5 Pieces for Orchestra, editied by Richard Hoffmann in 1972 (published by Peters in 1973). I would think it qualifies as urtext if it weren't for two things: ...

Bruckner Symphony 8 #465769

Yesterday I added a scan of Robert Haas's critical edition of Bruckner's 8th symphony (the index is in the subject). A CR tagged it as copyright in the US and EU, but this edition is the one reprinted by Kalmus (catalog A1364) and matches the set of parts. (The actual score I scanned is an old Belwi...

Berg Wozzeck file #411022

When/what year will the score to Wozzeck by Berg ( here , file #411022) be released for download? When will it enter PD in the three regions? On a related note, can I scan and upload the German/English glossary that is included as a separate booklet, so it is available alongside the score when it is...

[Guide] Using ScanTailor to clean scans

I have created a guide on my user page that describes in detail how to use ScanTailor to process scanned images and prepare a PDF for uploading. It is bookended with instructions specific to scans from the New York Philharmonic archives, but the procedure can be adapted to any scan source. I used th...

Re: NYPO score extraction

Thank you, this seems to work well! I also grabbed all the parts, so I'll go through those in due time. This will take a few weeks to clean all of it and upload.

NYPO score extraction

I hope I haven't trumped anybody of their job, but I took it upon myself to download the score to Respighi's Sinfonia Drammatica, which is PD (I think, published by UE in 1922) and not on IMSLP. I got it from the NYPO Archives site here: http://archives.nyphil.org/index.php/artifact/c66e2c3d-e572-47...

The Firebird original version

I have noticed that the page for Stravinsky's Firebird only has the viola part from the original 1910 version. This part shows Edwin F. Kalmus catalog number A3049. I have also noticed that the score for the 1910 version that is available (reprinted by Dover) lists the source as Muzyka, but the Kalm...
