Yes, I strongly recommend you to listen to them. The Gloria movement is so sublime. The fugue at that end of the movement is amazing as well.
Where can I find a recording?

Anton Eberl - Symphony in E-Flat Major

Alongside Beethoven's Symphony Nº. 3 in E-Flat Major "Eroica" was another E-Flat Major symphony by composer Anton Eberl which after getting better reviews in its first airing than the Eroica dropped off the map. I would be greatly interested in seeing a copy of the score being made availab...

Cadenza's to Beethovens 3rd Piano Concerto

I'm looking for four cadenzas to Beethovents Piano Concerto by the following composers. 1. Carl Czerny, published originally by Diabelli in a collection of piano works referred to as Czerny's Opus 61. 2. Two cadenzas by Ferdinand Ries, not sure if they were published or not. 3. A cadenza by Freidric...

Re: The Esterhazy Masses of Johann Nepomuk Fuchs (1766-1839)

The Austrian National Library does not have any of Fuchs's masses (except one handwritten set of parts of a C major mass). Apparently, these masses were never published by an Austrian publisher (Diabelli, Haslinger, Steiner, etc.)... Maybe some of the German publishers at that time published the ma...

The Esterhazy Masses of Johann Nepomuk Fuchs (1766-1839)

The Esterhazy Masses were composed between 1796 - 1810 by four composers, Joseph Haydn, Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Ludwig Van Beethoven & Johann Nepomuk Fuchs. The 6 Masses of Haydn & Beethovens lone effort are well known, Hummel's Four Masses have recently been recorded by Chandos and may re-en...

Opera Parodies

I recently purchased a battered copy of the 1977 edition of the 'Concise Oxford Dictionary of Opera' . One of the more interesting section described how between the 18th & 19th century it was popular to stage a parody of an existing opera. The practice died out in 1865 with the appearance of 'Tr...

Havergal Brian, Early Choral Works

Havergal Brian is a composer remembered mainly for his large scale symphonies composed between 1919 - 1968, however prior to this he wrote a number of choral pieces, such as ' Shall I compare thee to a summers day' (Breitkopf & Hartel), Psalm 137 (Breitkopf & Hartel), Psalm 23 (Cranz?) &...

Re: Beethoven Anh. 2 Quartets

Thought I'd bump this request and add some more details on what is being asked for. Anh 291a, Six Quartets for 2 violins, viola and cello (Anon. Attrib. W.A. Mozart & L. Van Beethoven). 1. Quartet in C Major Allegro maestoso (C Major) Adagio (F Major) Rondo. Allegro (C Major) 2. Quartet in G maj...

Re: Anton Reicha's String Quartets

Ron Drummond has been editing Reicha's string quartets for Merton Music. I'm not sure if they've all been published yet, but I think the plan is to do so. Sibley has been digitizing much of his other chamber music over the years, some of which surely has found its way into IMSLP. Thanks for letting...

Anton Reicha's String Quartets

I'd be interested in seeing these made available. Supposedly some of the writing looks forward to the works of the late 19th and early 20th century. All seem to have been out of print since the 1820's which would make scanning a challenge.

Re: Mozarts Symphony in F KV.98/K.Anh C11.04

The attribution to W.A. Mozart is apparently exceedingly weak, as the same symphony is also attributed to Joseph and/or Michael Haydn (and in the case of the Joseph Haydn attribution, listed in Hoboken's catalogue in a similar appendix of doubtful and spurious works), which is usually a sign that a...

Currently trying this using MuseScore, having a lot of problems, can't seem to get the notes into the right positions.

Re: Advice on converting a printed score to Midi

Are you talking about Optical Music Recognition (OMR) software? Most I've tried haven't worked very well. The easiest open source one to try out is probably audiveris . I haven't had the best luck with it though. I've read some papers in the past about people using gamera for some parts of omr ( St...
