Topic: Lieder in original language? Or should all Lieder be German?

This is how I understand this matter. The overall genre involved is "song," or "art song" in the classical field. The sub-genres of art song include division according to language. "Lieder" are art songs in the German language, just as "chansons," "romanc...

Very glad tidings! Congratulations!

Now I can't remember what scores I had prepared but didn't get a chance to upload before the shutdown. It is hoped that I'll still be able to find them on my computer... :?

I'd like to think that Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini is a form of piano concerto since the piano is the soloist and takes centre stage, and I'm not very comfortable with the work being categorized as a work for piano and orchestra. There are other examples, Tchaikovsky's Variations...

Are the Kalmus editions mentioned above supposed to be the large-size full scores that they sell in their orchestral catalog? I own a few of those, such as the full scores of Rimsky's "Snowmaiden" and some Russian orchestral works based on non-Soviet editions. Back in the 1970s-early 80s I...

[BUG] Search brings different results when not logged in

Hi, I just noticed something today. When I put something in the "Find" box, I get different results depending on whether I'm logged in. For example, when I enter "Cui" when logged out, the search forwards directly to the article. When I enter the same search under login, nothing ...

I had 2-3 of years of organ lessons in college after having played piano since the age of ten. My professor put me on the Gleason method book -- the pedal exercises especially. Among the hand-and-pedal pieces I learned early were some of the 6 Little Preludes and Fugues. If I recall correctly, I man...

There's not just composers, editors, and arrangers/transcribers -- the ones who work with the musical texts themselves.

There's also authors of sung texts, including translators.

Well, it seems that the failure to finish uploading successfully has happened when I use dialup for either single-file or multiple-file uploads; the error results have been differently expressed. However, this afternoon I managed to upload all 5 files for the vocal score of Cui's Mademoiselle Fifi ,...

I had an additional problem yesterday when I was trying to upload that last of the files for Cui's Prisoner of the Caucasus (using dialup at home). First I tried to upload three (no. 18, 18a, 18b) on the multiple add page, and after some time, instead of "success," the system gave me a bla...

One other question related to this: Since the sidebar upload function just asks for file to upload and filename to replace, does the management monitor this to make sure that the same piece and edition is involved, and especially that a disallowed piece isn't substituted instead?

Thanks. I just successfully uploaded the better files. But shouldn't the link in the phrase "Use this form for files already uploaded" be changed to the link in the upload page in the sidebar? Also, after you've uploaded a file using the sidebar link, there's a warning saying that files sh...

Didn't Schoenberg adopt that spelling himself, at last after moving to the U.S.?

[BUG/FEAT]? "Use this form for files already uploaded&q

This may have been asked before, or there may be a FAQ that I don't know about, so please excuse my ignorance. I was trying just now to upload a clearer version of a file to replace one that I had uploaded the other day ( http://imslp.org/images/e/e9/Cui_Kav_00_russ1pv.pdf ). My attempt do this was ...
