Re: Schenker's Der freie Satz
I believe there are only 3 examples in the first edition of 1935 that are not present in subsequent editions. Two of them are graphic images - one showing a pyramid-like structure (I forget the accompanying text) and one showing the difference between most people's concept of genius (that average pe...

Library of Congress digitizes over 1,100 opera scores
The Library of Congress has digitized their Martorell collection of about 1,100 manuscript opera scores. Many of these are unique and little-known 18th century operas. About the collection: https://www.loc.gov/collections/martorell-collection/about-this-collection List of composers: https://www.loc....

Uploading a compilation
I've uploaded one compilation score years ago, but I've forgotten how to do it. That compilation was rather easy: one composer to one work. The score I'm currently working on is more difficult: a number of opera composers represented by multiple works by each composer. I thought it might be in the F...

real name vs. IMSLP username
I tried uploading my own transcription and received the explanation that all arrangers must have their own "composer" page on IMSLP. But I don't want to use my real name. Can I just use my IMSLP username?

How to identify scores missing pages
Some time ago I discovered a score on IMSLP that was missing a few pages. I was able to supply the missing pages and the original uploader was able to combined them and upload a new version of the file which contained the complete score. Is there a way to identify scores on IMSLP which are missing p...

IMSLP financial status?
The end of the year (at least in the United States) is often accompanied by pleas for donations. It reminded me that I've not seen any such pleas from IMSLP in a long time. Does that mean that IMSLP is on a "steady" financial foundation, given the partnership with Naxos and perhaps institu...

Re: Remember me
Usually the ability to remember is done by storing cookies. Is there perhaps some app that's wiping your cookies, or maybe your browser is not keeping them?

Parry: Overture to an Unwritten Tragedy
The IMSLP score to this work is lacking pages 38 and 42. I have scanned pages 38 and 42 as jpg files. If some expert out there would like to convert and insert the pages in the file, I can gladly supply the pages. Let me know!

Do we need a category Black composers?
The subject says it all. Not only composers, but should there be categories for Black composers, lyricists, and librettists? I feel there should be. I'd be interested to hear how others feel.

Sheet Music Consortium
The Sheet Music Consortium - http://digital2.library.ucla.edu/sheetmusic/- is an attempt to bring together digitized sheet music from various institutions (mostly libraries) within a single portal. The material is mostly popular American songs from before 1923. Just as there is a wholesale project t...

Re: Dreams of integration with Hofmeister XIX
"...many French, Belgian, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Scandinavian publications..." Huh? Hofmeister XIX barely has any non-German publications listed (pretty much only if they were distributed jointly with a German firm). Many, many plate numbers of German publications reveal a date which ...

Re: Dreams of integration with Hofmeister XIX
"What it isn't..." It's not definitive, but in many cases it's awfully close. Perhaps another project would be to integrated some of the books of Alexander Weinmann with what's here.

Dreams of integration with Hofmeister XIX
Earlier today I was trying to date a work published by Breitkopf by going to its IMSLP page. Darn: the gap between plate numbers listed was very wide, and the later plate number had an earlier date than the earlier plate number. So I checked on Hofmeister XIX: http://www.hofmeister.rhul.ac.uk/2008/i...
