Re: sea shanty = folksong?

As a shantyman I would concur with that view for ease of classification but point out that they are still being written!

Re: Move piece from composition tab to arrangement tab

Hi, the total on the arrangements tab is still one: they are not listed as arrangements, though the pieces themselves are now shown as arrangements. Also I have remembered that http://imslp.org/wiki/Oh_My_Sweetheart_(Dyson,_Peter) should also be shown on the arrangements tab and not the compositions...

Re: Move piece from composition tab to arrangement tab

Likewise I have two pieces that ought to be on my arrangements page!

http://imslp.org/wiki/Lowlands_Away_(Dyson,_Peter)
and
http://imslp.org/wiki/Down_by_the_Sally ... on,_Peter)
Can you do the honours please?
Thanks

adding files

Dear Moderators, I have tried to add the parts to Shadows unsuccessfully! N File:PMLP138907-Shadows - Violoncello 1 part.pdf and the other 7 cello parts. The error message is "Error creating thumbnail: The thumbnail for this file has not been created yet." I have tried editing the page fil...

Licencing Updating

Do I need to update all my CC licences from 3.0 to 4.0 to indicate there are no restrictions on performance? Also I have messed up my "Testimony" page by adding a file that needed to go on the "Stone" page and then tried to remove it... Result the "Testimony " page has ...

Re: Is the image the property of a library?

Is this a question about acknowledging stewardship? The engraver? The copyist?... Every performance involves a host of people who turn the composer's score into something slightly different from the last time it was performed. Who acknowledges this? The audience? Libraries are stewards and facilitat...

Re: Copyright protection warnings on contemporary composers

How about about a positive statement when we upload our scores? " I, the copyright holder have uploaded this work (these works) into the Petrucci Library so that it may be downloaded and reproduced at will without breach of any copyright laws extant worldwide. The date on which it will be publi...

Re: Cheap tablet for viewing sheet music...

Trying out a 10" Pocketbook now.. and so far it seems okay... page turn overs a bit slow in Presto... but certainly more convenient than my netbook.
A pound to a penny at then end of the day I am going to say I prefer a printed full score.. even if they are heavy to lug around!!

Legrenzi Giovanni

18 Sonatas, Op.10 (Legrenzi, Giovanni)
The page title is incorrect: it should read Sonata No 18 Op 10.

Re: Improving room acoustics, wool or cotton threads.

It is the mobile phones going off that disturb.... the woman behind me the other night just ignored her phone until her companion complained....(and why is it always in the quiet bits when the concert is being recorded?) .... "but I don't know how to turn it off" she cried.. "no one h...

Re: Cheap tablet for viewing sheet music...

Just a Hewlett Packard Mini... but it gets a bit warm to hold for the longer Mahler symphonies!... and it does not open flat...so I would like a 10" book reader... I think!!! And it is not much use in the opera house.... the reflection disturbs the neighbours.. but in the right seat and with bi...

Re: An idea for a musical challange...

Wandering slightly away from the thread... I was at a birthday concert where the composer (Shchedrin) had a star named after him by the Academy of Sciences (or whatever body has the ability to do that)... it was a nice moment and I really think he did not know it was going to happen. I am not sure w...

Re: Just want to say Hello!

To re-iterate a request... this is an international forum so if you are writing in English, please, please use plain English we can all understand. You would fall off your chair if you put the abbreviated (dare I say lazy) English format into a translator.. it is bad enough with plain language. Pete...

Re: Cheap tablet for viewing sheet music...

Study score size.... my netbook is okay for concert's but I would still prefer something a little bigger... so I am looking for recommendati0ons too! Some of the book readers read pdf files. Ideas?
