Re: Hans Huber: Phantasie nach Worten der heiligen Schrift

I already moved the content of the old page to the new one (before reading your forum post, even...)
Thanks for uploading this music, important piece by a great composer!

Re: Flötenuhr transcriptions?

Thanks Max!

It's clearly PD then. I'll upload the music as soon as I receive the scans.

Flötenuhr transcriptions?

A friend of mine is gonna send me some scans of a 1987 edition of a collection of organ pieces, written by Händel for a mechanical clock (or Flötenuhr) The pieces are exact transcriptions of the clock's mechanism, including written-out trills in quintuplets and such. Now I wonder, what's the copyrig...

Re: Bruckner's 0th

Thanks Carolus, much appreciated.
I don't see any change yet, though. It's still listed as EU non-PD.

Re: Bruckner's 0th

Why isn't the score PD EU? I don't think Wöss' editorial additions are enough to give it the status of an arrangement. Following that logic, it's as much an "arrangement" as the later Nowak version (which is PD EU) or any other Bruckner score edited by Nowak, Haas, Orel or others. I think ...

Bruckner's 0th

I saw we only have the Nowak edition of Bruckner's 0th symphony, which is non-PD US (and will remain so for a long time). I'm wondering, I've got the original 1924 Wöss editon here, would that be PD US? Gonna scan upload it anyway since it's PD EU, but it would be a nice bonus if it would make this ...

Re: How to approach the Beethoven Quartets

One suggestion would be - since you're a pianist - approaching the late quartets from the Diabelli Variations. Alfred Brendel called it the greatest piece ever written for piano, and I think there's some truth in that. What's essential is that Beethoven at this stage explored the "truth" o...

Re: Lost works you would most like to hear or find the score

Sibelius's 8th Symphony.Regards, Michael. It isn't entirely lost to the world since the organ piece "Surusoitto" is said to be based on material from the symphony. How about Beethoven's last composition, the String Quintet in C major? Only a transcription for piano quatre-mains exists, th...

Re: [BUG] Can't upload files

I checked "recent changes" and it appears that no-one has been able to upload anything for the last 12 hours. Editing pages isn't a problem, but uploading new material is.

Re: [BUG] Can't upload files

Same here. I'm trying to upload a file to an existing page, but Opera gives me a 413 request entity too large error (Firefox just reports a broken connection).
Hope this can be fixed soon.

Re: Copyright protection warnings on contemporary composers

I'd say that just removing "and are thus subject to deletion" would do the trick already, since that's something that contemporary contributors to IMSLP DON'T want to happen. Or maybe it could be replaced by something like "and are thus subject to deletion, unless the uploader is also...

Re: Gotterdamerung score

Not only that, but the whole page is redundant.
The file (Kleinmichel arrangement) is identical to the one I uploaded earlier to the correct page: http://imslp.org/wiki/G%C3%B6tterd%C3%A ... Richard%29
I marked the page for deletion, thanks for the notification!

Re: Johann Caspar Heinrich Fischer, looking for a bio

I guess you don't mean Johann Caspar FERDINAND Fischer?
About Heinrich: I can only find dates about a composer named Johann Fisher (1646-1720), could be him. And that he composed a passepied for 2 recorders.
