Re: Anton Rubinstein Symphonies
And I have not forgot it :D Point is: I bought my copies of the symphonies from Hoeflich which are pocket scores. The problem is that the binding method (I don't know the english term for this particular type of binding) makes it quite hard to scan, when dealing with larger (150 pp+) scores. Since t...

Re: help instrumnts!!!!!!!
According to the preface of the edition, most kindly provided by kalliwoda, the Basset in B is a bass clarinet and the Corno Basso in B is a baritone (euphonium).

This has already been discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1641&p=10573&hilit= ... ein#p10573 . It will however take quite a long time to scan all this. If you are in a hurry you can get pocket scores of nos. 1 - 5 from Hoeflich: www.musikmph.de .

Re: Rimsky Korsakov Trombone Concerto!!!!!
I don't. BUT if anyone is able to scan form the original source (i.e. Vol. 25 of Polnoe sobranie sochineiy) please pm me so i can have a look at the preface. A major problem discussed elsewhere on the forum, regarding the instrumentation (what does "basotti" mean a.s.o.) I am convinced tha...

Re: help instrumnts!!!!!!!
I'll have to find out more about the Hardanger fiddle. It sounds very interesting. I have seen a few recordings around of Tveitt's works - I'll have to get hold of them and have a listen. That I will recommend you to do :D He has two concertoes for Hardanger fiddle and orchestra (1955 & 65). Th...

It might be, as well as it might be an alto bassoon, as well something completly different... For all we know it might be a strange russian instrument RK have just made up a name for. Take norway's national instrument for instance, called Hardingfele - in english Hardanger fiddle. This instrument h...

Re: enrty march of the boyars
This would be the orchestral showpiece by Johan Halvorsen. I'm guessing what you want is the piano arrangement made by Grieg (EG 183)? I won't be able to do this one before thursday. Perhaps Normus can be faster, try his talk page.

Re: Tchaikovsky orchestral version of The Four Seasons
But Tchaikovsky did not orchestrate his piano cycle "The Seasons", or make any arrangements of Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons". No he didn't, but Aleksandr Gauk (the conductor) did. Gauk, however, died in 1963 so this orchestration is not PD (I don't know if it was even published)....

Re: help instrumnts!!!!!!!
Could you provide us with the context of these terms? Is it from a score or a book or something else? If the Corno Basso is tuned in B then this is a fixed term and means that the horns are supposed to tranpose (from written to sounding pitch) down a 9th and not a 2nd like for example B-clarinets. B...

Re: Adding links to work pages for online recordings
Brilliant! I find this a great idea! When it comes to composers like Dargomyzhsky and like it's also rather important. A problem might occur however when dealing with composers like Mozart, Beethoven, Bach a.s.o. It would do more harm than good to let anyone add a link to his/hers own performance of...

Do you mean a four hand arrangement of the whole piece? Brahms own arrangement of the andante is available http://imslp.org/wiki/String_Sextet_No. ... _Johannes)
