Re: Bedrich Smetana - Ma vlast (My country)

Im guessing that the OP is aware of this fact and is instead looking for the Full Score, which is not uploaded in the OM series. Just a wild guess though

Re: Carmen Orchestral Parts

Understandable, same thign occurs with everyone's typeset, though i would ad that we have her eprobably the greatest collection of editors ever, with several thousand users if someone sees an error they could note it, if it was sufficiently desired. [EDIT]On a similar note, perhaps it would be a goo...

Carmen Orchestral Parts

Having ploughed into typesetting the complete opera i realised somethine  namely i'm fairly sure anyone planning to perform the piece would get a set of published parts, for convenience etc. As such i doubt anyone will ever USE the extracted parts, thoughts people? Just for your information, i...

Re: Alkan...how many people are familiar with him?

Alkans works are, on the whole, exceptionally virtuosic, even so, there are some wonderfully simple pieces he wrote. Example being the Bacarolle Op.65 no.6. From the more demanding repertoire, yes the symphony for solo piano, also the Allegro Barbaro from the twelve studies in major keys and Le Fest...

Re: Mahler's Annotated Symphony No.1

Gorrecting myself, in a irritating coincidence, zoomify has split the image up into different farms, and it does not SEEM to have any rhyme or reason, for example on page 0, TileGroup0 holds the left-most 4 pieces for the first 14 rows, then the leftmost 3 for the rest, and TileGroup1 holds columns ...

URL structure is the following, I can automate the download process, but again, i echo leonards comment, does anyone know how to splice jpegs losslessly? http://barhama.com/NYPHILARCHIVE/MUSICSCORES/1587/zoomify/page{{PAGE NUMBER}}/TileGroup0/{{ZOOM LEVEL (5 highest)}}-{{X}}-{{Y}}.jpg The images are...

Re: Woodwind chair organisation

I believe I did mean A3, ie the A below middle C, but in the passage in queston it was essentially 2 implied melodies, one pushing E-F4, and the other down between G and A3, so the choice of Bass/Tenor seemed unclear at that point, either way ledger lines seemed likely, but fewer with tenor clef * S...

Re: Woodwind chair organisation

A sort of related question to any bassoonists out there, wit regard to tenor/bass clef; is there a standard preference for bass clef, or would you usually prefer that which minimises ledger lines. Since im working on a piece which hovers around A3, and I tend to stick with tenor clef unless the part...

Baroque Oboe Concerti

Could I extend a request to the powers that be for the oboe concertos by Marcello, Vivaldi, Bellini and Albinioni, full scores preferred, for utility, but even piano reductions would be nice, im happy to extract parts if necessary, but i dont have access to any of this music.

Re: Work information template: Instrumentation

I agree that the option for a short form should be present, especially because the short form allows easier parsing for an instrumentation search. The problem, as Steltz says, is that there are many, often conflicting, methods for notating instriments, which becomes more cumbersome with the addition...

Woodwind chair organisation

Suppose you have a score that calls for 4 bassoons, but a)Never divs in more than 2, and b)Doesn't specify which chair is playing top and bottom. What organisation for chairs would be normal, 1,3 High Bassoons like horns, or 1,2 High; its a bit of a strange question i know, but im curious

Re: Berlioz Parts

Yes, much work would be needed in order to clean the parts, and there are a couple of errors in the first moveemnt of Harold in Italy for example. It is, however a shame he is unwilling to release the parts, since i was rather looking forward to a challenge ^^, ah well, i shall have to wait for the ...

Re: Work information template: Instrumentation

Ok, so we're almost through with a complete agreement, the last thing i can think of ismultiple vocal soloists, examples like Gurrelieder, or some of Mahlers symphonies, as well as opera, do we think that Vocal Soli (2S, 3A, 2T, 1Bari, 3 Bass) is acceptable, or would Vocal Soli (2 Soprano, 2 Mezzo-S...
