Les Contes d'Hoffmann, 1977 vocal score

There is an edition of Les Contes d'Hoffmann from 1977 edited by Fritz Oeser. It has some numbers in it that were omitted from earlier editions of the work. I have seen several people asking for the Violin Aria in particular, and thought it might be a good candidate to post in IMSLP. Here is a link ...

[FEAT] Create new section from file upload dialog

I'm uploading some parts to a work page that does not have a parts section. It would be nice if I could specify a new section during the upload, rather than having to create the section either before or after upload.

What section of the work page should this go under?

I typeset an aria from Handel's Rodelinda based on the full score available on IMSLP. I did this so I could extract the parts to perform with string quartet. As a result, I have six PDFs to upload. The full score, each of the four string parts, and a voice part. The voice part is sort of a vocal sco...

3 Shakespeare songs, Op. 37, by Amy Beach

This is a Masters Music edition. There is no copyright information printed anywhere in the book. I expect this is a public domain reprint, but there isn't any source information, either.

Masters Music catalog number M 3698

Re: Scanner does not like the color black

Actually, nevermind. I think I solved it.

The scanner had several black and white settings, and I was using the "text and line art" setting. I tried out the "black and white text" setting, and it seems to have had a much better result.

Scanner does not like the color black

New workplace, new scanner, and I'm having a problem. This scanner doesn't seem to like the color black. I do black and white scans, and any large areas that should be black come out dithered. I've tried playing with the contrast, but it doesn't seem to do any good. Is there any setting I should loo...

Movie about a popular singing group in Germany during the rise of the Nazi party. Three of the six members were Jewish. Not quite classical music, but very good nonetheless.

Re: Allow the storage of other music formats

We now allow zip archives for the engraving files of WIMA contributors. As Christian has mentioned, such engraving files can be very helpful to performers who might need to re-arrange a piece for their specific ensemble. Is this only for scores brought over from WIMA, or is this generally allowed f...

Re: Orchestral score people: Intervals on same stem or not?

If you have two flutes parts written on the same staff, I think it's the general rule to put notes on their own stems. Go with the style on the left.

Re: Tosti Upload Project

Okay, next thing. Volume nine of the set is "Raccolte d'epoca", or period collections. How should I split up these into work pages? I'm not sure whether these collections are song cycles that Tosti intended, or simply collections of unrelated songs that a publisher or editor put together. ...

Re: [BUG] Table of contents links not working on work page

I was able to reproduce the bug in Chrome on Mac. The Contents links seem to be working just fine in Firefox and Safari on Mac.

Re: Tosti Upload Project

I'm in the middle of uploading volume 7, and noticed something odd about L'ultima canzone . It's one of the better known songs, so there was already a copy on IMSLP. My scan is clearly a different edition, so I uploaded it. What is strange is that the listed plate number for the existing copy is the...

[BUG] Table of contents links not working on work page

Clicking on the links in the "Contents" box does not work on the page for Schwanengesang . When I click on the link for "2.1 Voice and Piano", my browser jumps to the proper place in the work page, but then immediately jumps back to the top of the page. I have not yet tried this ...
