Are you sure? I've found scans of the work which I think you're referring to and it doesn't seem to match.acarroll77 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 3:10 pm Mystery solved - this work is "Variazioni per flauto, con accompt. di piano-forte" by T. Bucher

Re: Please Complete Captcha?????
When a website shows you a captcha, it will typically make you type the contents into a text box right below it. But I don't see a captcha on the "add composer" page; are you using the correct link?

Re: Please Complete Captcha?????
A captcha is the little bit of obfuscated text that you have to copy to prove that you're not a robot: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAPTCHA I'm not sure Rameau is underrated as a composer, but as a theorist, surprisingly few people seem aware that almost all western music of any genre is shaped by ...

Re: Baroque Instrumentation/Notation involving Transposing Instruments?
I have looked at the score and honestly came back none the wiser. Assuming that the fundamental tone of a natural trumpet from this era is a written middle C, those low notes are indeed unplayable, and several of the higher notes are not available as harmonics. Regarding the unreadable word, the las...

Re: Baroque Instrumentation/Notation involving Transposing Instruments?
Isn´t there a possibility in MuseScore to show the score in concert pitch? Indeed: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/concert-pitch Also, you can change an instrument to any transposition for those cases where the instruments list does not have what you want: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tr...

Re: Gran Duetto No.3 for 2 Double Basses (Bottesini, Giovanni)
Thank you for expressing interest in the files that I uploaded. IMSLP is a wiki that everyone can edit, so you can fix a simple issue like this yourself whenever you see it, but I've changed it and listed the movements for all the duets in any case.

Re: new composer, new editor, new work
Ah, the composer made be in the public domain, but the editor is not (since the edition you uploaded is from 2018). Therefore, the edition you uploaded is copyright protected*. If you don't know Phillip Silver and don't have permission from him to uploaded his edition on IMSLP, then stop, because th...

Re: new composer, new editor, new work
When you're on a composer's page, do you see the option "Add work" under "Toolbox" at the top? Click that when you're on the composer's page, not the editor's. Then fill in some details and the work page is created. Once on the work page, go to Add File (at the top of the screen)...

If you click on "Adopter cet ouvrage" on the right side of the BNF catalog page, you can commission a digitization of this edition which will be publicly available on the Gallica digital collection, from where it can be downloaded and added to IMSLP. I would be very glad if you did this (i...

Regenerate thumbnails
Hi, there's a few files where I removed bogus front matter, but the thumbnails don't seem to be regenerating and are an eyesore: https://imslp.org/wiki/File:PMLP843453-danbe_methode_raw.pdf https://imslp.org/wiki/File:PMLP796594-Pigmalione.pdf I tried doing the MediaWiki purge method, but no dice. Are rentals doable?
Hi all, There's sheet music in the public domain which is only available for hire from a single publisher. Is it feasible to rent such material for the sole purpose of scanning it in before sending it back? I figure it would be painfully expensive and require one to tell sweet lies to the publisher ...

Re: Vierne Ainsi parlait Zarathoustra, Op.49
If you click on "Adopter cet ouvrage" you can sponsor for it to be digitized and put on Gallica. Although, I've done that for a different item a while ago and haven't gotten a reply (holidays?)

First edition of Louise Farrenc's Nonet, Op.38
Hi all, Farrenc's 1849 Nonet was never published during her lifetime (the autograph score is held in the BNF), but Edition Silvertrust has nonetheless found a 19th century edition, which they modified and reprinted ( info here ). I have found it absolutely impossible to determine what this first edi...
