Re: Tristan

I think every book on harmony and musical analysis devotes at least a couple of pages on Wagner and on the Tristan prelude in particular - but the notion that "the unresolved chord in the Prelude remains unresolved for 4 hours" is quite new to me. It appears to stem from a poetical analysi...

Re: Pieces for strs+fls+cls+saxes, or to arrange for such

Well, allow me to be so bold as to suggest my 6th symphony: http://imslp.org/wiki/Symphony_No.6_%27A_Pastoral_Idyll%27,_Op.142_%28Peters,_Rob%29 Orchestra: flute, oboe, 2 clarinets (Bb), bassoon, trumpet (Bb), 2 horns (F), strings (contrabass ad lib.) Or maybe even more suited (since there are no ob...

Re: Cherubini Horn Sonata emergency!

Wednesday? Ouch!
Well, Horndude's score looks good, and maybe a mod can give it the express treatment and clear it a.s.a.p.?
Hope things will work out for you.

Re: TELEMANN CONCERTO for RECORDER and FLUTE TWV52e1

Just checked the score - and it definitely is an error. The c doesn't fit in the e minor harmony of the strings and the correct e is confirmed by the imitation in the traverso part, the following beat. It's so obvious that any serious player will correct it himself, like the player in your recording...

Re: Sets of orchestral parts

I don't think separate uploads for combined sets of parts would be a good idea since it doubles the server load. And even downloading, say 30 individual parts shoulding take too long. Just configure Firefox (or whatever browser you use) so that clicked pdf's get downloaded automatically (in Firefox,...

Re: Beethoven not Op 83 puzzle

It's an arrangement of the Sextet for 2 horns and string quartet op. 81b. Durand must have arranged it from a piano trio version, probably Naumann's, so it's basically an arrangement of an arrangement. No idea where the attribution to opus 83 comes from. Also, the score mentions "organ", b...

2 work pages to be deleted

http://imslp.org/wiki/Albumblatt,_WWV_64_%28Wagner,_Richard%29 Content of this page belongs to WWV 94, not 64. I copied the content to the correct location already, so the original page can be removed. http://imslp.org/wiki/Sortie_%28Lef%C3%A9bure-W%C3%A9ly,_Louis_James_Alfred%29 This piece has been...

Charpentier's work list at http://www.klassika.info/Komponisten/Ch ... _wvz1.html has the Midnight Mass listed as H.9, not 10.

Re: Gounod's Psalm

Here you are: http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Pr%C3%A8s_du_fleuve_%C3%A9tranger_%28Charles_Gounod%29 I actually wonder what's IMSLP's policy on importing scores from CPDL.org. They have a huge library of choir music, free downloads. As far as I can see, their scores are CC-BY-SA, with no copyrigh...

Re: Hans ROTT

Of the 3 versions of the symphony listed on that page, the first appear to be the orchestral parts (only for hire), the second (98,50 euro) is the original score and the 3rd (32 euro) is a piano arrangement.

Re: Hans ROTT

The symphony has only been published for the first time in the late 80's by Reis & Erler, there's no chance you'll find it here or elsewhere as a free download. So I can't help you, but your post made me look up the biography of this composer (of whom I knew hardly more than his name and the fac...

I deleted {{Spill|l19936}} for you :-) (Fugue in E-flat minor (Sabaneyev, Boris)) Where would I be without you guys  I see the other items I uploaded today are cancelled from the list too, thanks. Interesting piece, that Sabaneyev fugue, btw. Starts fairly traditionally, but goes completely o...

Re: University of Rochester collection

I noticed the abundance of PD US only items too, yes. Will be careful only to upload PD EU pieces.
I still wonder: say, I'll upload some Sibley scores I found in a manual search, will they still show up in the daily updates on the scores listing?
