Re: New Main Page full redesign project

Icactus, just to say your page looks great: cleaner than the existing page (but I also like the "A" ) which I suspect has grown organically over time. You're actually doing something quite difficult: re-designing a key webpage for a big collaborative venture. If IMSLP was a priva...

Re: New Main Page full redesign project

I've had much positive feedback from the anniversary logo that Philidor designed... Actually, it was my g/f who designed it. She's a pro designer so somewhere on her computer she'll have a high-res copy of the Petrucci "A". Just say if you'd like me to ask her to dig it out. https://puffi...

Re: Images from the Milan Conservatory Library

I have asked our administration office for an official answer about donations. Thanks! But seriously, the idea of a Milan Conservatory bureaucrat responding: "Oh no no no we can't accept it take it away how terribly unlawful!" should a rich man bequest them some cash is ridiculous. They'd...

Gabriele, Here's the Vatican Library's donations page http://www.vaticanlibrary.va/home.php?pag=donazioni&ling=eng You can click on a range of funds, including their manuscript digitization project, taking you to a cash donations page: http://www.vaticanlibrary.va/home.php?pag=dona&cat=digit...

Re: Images from the Milan Conservatory Library

Hi Philidor, Are you certain? If Rupert Murdoch woke up tomorrow and donated €10,000,000 to the Milan Conservatory Library, you'd be obliged, under Italian law, to return the cheque? I truly hope we can reach agreement on this. It's a great shame to place huge costs between musicians and public dom...

Re: Images from the Milan Conservatory Library

@ Philidor and others: your suggestion is nice, but situation in Italy is quite different from English-speaking countries: I'm not an administrative person, but I suspect that in fact our institution can't accept money donations at all, by law. Are you certain? If Rupert Murdoch woke up tomorrow an...

Re: Images from the Milan Conservatory Library

And no, we are asserting no right, we are just asking people interested in our music to help us preserving and promoting it: this preservation and promotion work has a cost and we need help to cover it. Hi Gabriele, Why not use the IMSLP method: make everything free, but ask for donations, merchand...

Re: Forum Rules

If someone was really potty-mouthed I'd pull them up about it. If they abused blacks, gays, Muslims, women, or the disabled (for example) - with or without the use of foul language - I'd ban them. But forums imo should reflect real life as far as possible, and in real life normal people swear a bit....
