Re: Ravel: Le Tombeau de Couperin

These are parts that were made available through The Orchestra Musician's CD-ROM Library (http://www.orchmusiclibrary.com/).

You say the two copies contain different musical content. Can you provide an example of this?

Re: International Music Company Engravings

In most countries, this type of mechanical reproduction never passes as an original contribution. We have several pieces on this site that fit into that category. It comes down to a "sweat of the brow" approach. While it is admirable and appreciated that such companies go to the time and e...

Re: Strauss Vocal Scores

Yes, this is something that our collection does lack as you point out. It is simply because contributors with these vocal scores haven't stepped forward to scan and/or upload them. Hopefully some will in the future.

If it's from Luck's, it's 99% going to be a straight reprint, yes.

Re: Anton Webern/Eric Smith translator

Well, there remains some serious question as to whether a translation is to be considered a contribution worthy of copyright extension. There doesn't appear to have ever been rulings on that question, but if memory serves, we made an internal judgement to disregard those translations when figuring e...

Re: Hindemith Organ Concerto 1964 schott

This piece was premiered by the New York Philharmonic on April 25, 1963 with soloist Anton Heiller. So as Carolus and Max have mentioned, once you upload this piece, provided it isn't edited or "contributed" by anyone other than Hindemith, it will be marked as public domain for Canada.

We do not permit uploading of source files directly. However, you can always generate a PDF from the source, and attach the source to the PDF file then upload that.

Yes, but the CD Sheet Music logos must be removed as those are still protected.

Re: PUCCINI ORCHESTRAL PARTS

(Puccini is a public domain composer) Not to split too many hairs with you here, but that isn't necessarily a true statement. For example, of the two pieces you are requesting, parts to Manon Lescaut would be public domain almost anywhere, however those to Suor Angelica would not be except in the U...

Yes so long as this new reprint doesn't contain any forwards or other prose and, if so, you don't include that in your scans.

Re: I need my score update approved as soon as possible

jossuk is correct in that I was referring to the date of posting (March 8). Sorry if that was the source of the confusion. Anyhow, I've reviewed and tagged the current version of your 'Fantasy' and it should be available for download soon. Let us know if you need anything else.

Re: I need my score update approved as soon as possible

Now I'm confused. In your first post, you asked to have your score reviewed for copyright, and you linked to the 'Fantasy'. The comments in my previous post were regarding that piece since that's what I thought was under discussion. You now talk about your 'Prelude', however that piece is already re...

The version currently referenced was posted 3/8. According to the file metadata, the last edit date was 3/4/2014 5:57:58 AM and it has a file size of 89,575 bytes. Maybe you re-posted an older version of the file?
