Wikisource streamlined-links?
There might be some advantage, since it seems direct links to English and other-language Wikisource pages are used enough, to have a ... not template, but whatever the Wikipedia bracket-links are called :) (the old ones, not the new "wp" template which I agree takes up less space and is ev...

Re: Some features of IMSLP Membership running out early?
That’s all I meant. No worries, it’s a good idea (and even if I’d been right and some other ads were returning, I would have been curious, not griping, I think!)
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Re: Foerster string quintet op 3
Belatedly: (1) thanks!! (2) Why doubt it- happens all the time actually- in this case -perhaps- a manuscript for quintet, a manuscript arrangement, only the arrangement was published but the title page says quintet, and like many a creator the composer is more interested in what he's up to next than...

Some features of IMSLP Membership running out early?
I received a much-appreciated 10-year membership some while back which expires in late 2025. As of today, I think, however, the advertisements are back in two different browsers (yes, I'm logged in), and while this is hardly a horrible thing, I'm wondering if it implies that membership features expi...

Re: State of Music Sack?
It's been down for a month, I think.
May I ask which composers? I sometimes have a little success hunting down info in digitized obituary articles, etc. etc. ... ... ... . (Not quite as easy as rolling off a nekro log, but...)

If Japan follows EU rules of death+70 (I should check.) he might be in (c) until 2032 and they may be reluctant to copy complete works that are in-c…

I assume you mean op.20, not the movement for string trio.

Re: Unknown Really Good Composer Recently Died
Only almost unknown, I’m fairly sure I saw an in memoriam/music-centred obituary in print or online by someone else a few months ago now you remind me.
RHUL
https://hofmeister.rhul.ac.uk/ and the Hofmeister project at RHUL seems to have been "404 Not Found" for some days now, suggesting it's really actually gone. Of course, the scans at ÖNB (newish link within ÖNB) are still there, just not OCR'd or searchable.

Re: Major items dropped from PD-US server, I see
(On a related point, I am aware that our attempts to restrict access to the pd-us-only pages are -not aided- when people create universally-viewable score videos from them, and since we have people sign a form when they download a public-domain-in-the-us file, we can hardly object if youtube harshly...

I'm curious about this composer, about whom I can't seem to find anything more or anything confirming?

"Leaving aside..." - I'd say it's safer to go with a public domain source than not. More recent sources can have unknown editorial accretions of all kinds (including sometimes renaming works entirely...)

Major items dropped from PD-US server, I see
I notice Havergal Brian's Symphony no.1 and opera The Tigers are no longer on the PD-US server (or anywhere else, of course, since he's not PD-CA for 20 years or so.) Were these works discovered to have been c-renewed? (I know UMP offers reprint editions of many of these works, and retypesets of qui...

Actually, I was going by death date, by which he’s (c) in EU but generally not in CA, true.
