What is "all of the major treatise"? Currently the symphonies and many concertos of Schubert, Schumann, Mahler, Mendelssohn, Borodin, Rachmaninoff and others are missing from IMSLP. I consider all of these (and more) major works. If you're talking about some sort of excerpt book, it would ...

Pick what interests you first as you'll have more incentive to work on it. Other than that I'm always interested in public domain horn music (concertos, etudes, chamber pieces, etc...) if you have any along with full orchestra scores. Good luck!

new style

I applaud the effort to customize the style of the page, but I have to complain. - It seems that the font has been enlarged unneccessarily. - The logo's blue clashes with the background blue. (perhaps just make the background of the logo clear) - The yellow in the headings clashes with the normal wh...

I agree. The first time I came to this page it wasn't obvious how to find scores. Some friends I sent here experienced the same thing. So if you have ideas on how to make the front page better I don't think there will be many objections. And if someone doesn't like the changes we can always revert t...

Not to change the topic, but where are you getting all of these scores? The ones that I've looked at look great. Thanks!

I actually own the dover score which is a copy from 1909. I'm still working out how best to scan them in however. Don't expect it any time soon though.

Perhaps this idea would work in the short term, but I don't like it for the long term. What if the external site goes down or moves. It is more annoying to me to go to a site that references other sites of which 90% are broken links. Keeping the actual score with the repository is a better approach....

I hope I didn't offend with any of my comments. (I would love to add the info if I knew it.) I think this is a wonderful project and I'm willing to help. I do own some scores that I am willing to scan. I've never done this before. What tools do you use? I'm on linux and I managed to get my scanner w...

Publisher information

I see that the publisher, editor, and similar information are missing from many of the entries. I'd be happy to update this if I knew the sources. So my question would be how do we find out this information? I'm mainly interested in the Beethoven symphony scores at the moment. Ok, Thanks! -----Hornd...

Oh yeah, I forgot. Has anybody else checked out that site I posted (http://www.artes.ufpr.br/material/banco_de_partituras/). There are quite a few scores there which aren't here. How would we check if they are public domain? Or could we add them and then removed them if someone finds a problem? Ok, ...

Yeah, it would be a lot of work, but to have a collection of free parts out there would be quite valuable. It would save costs for many orchestras (and every penny for some orchestras counts). Anyways, I'm sure there are collections of public domain pieces out there. Maybe in university libraries. I...
