Hi folks,
I'm trying to upload Ricardo Castro's Impromptu, op. 41. I created the page - it looks fine. But when I try to upload the pdf file, I get the message:
Internal error: Bad file name .
Is this my problem, or a server issue?
Thanks!

Copyrighted score
Someone uploaded this file: http://imslp.org/wiki/File:PMLP506731-C ... _Op.11.pdf
Even with the publisher information deleted, it's easy to tell this is a Henle edition and therefore in copyright.

Can't upload score by Cyril Scott
Hi folks, I have a score by Cyril Scott, "Danse negre" which is public domain in the U.S. where I am located (copyright 1911) which I want to upload. But I don't see an "Add file" tab for his page. I recognize that this work is p.d. only in the U.S. (and there are plenty of other...

Re: Reducing pdf size
I generally scan at 400 dpi but in color because I find the resolution looks better than in any of the black/white options. But, for example, I did a scan, and Cypressdome reduced it greatly: http://imslp.org/wiki/Piano_Sonata_in_B-flat_major,_WWV_21_(Wagner,_Richard) (see under arrangements and tra...

Reducing pdf size
Hi folks, When I create a score, I use Adobe Acrobat to reduce the file size. But that doesn't give me as much reduction as I see others have done (for example, switching from color to black and white, resampling, etc). Is there some page with a list of instructions on how to reduce file size withou...

Onslow string quintet, op. 19 (and ops. 17-18) - incorrect instrumentation
The description of this work follows New Grove and other sources, saying its for 2 violins, viola and 2 cellos. Based on the first edition's title page and the labeling of the parts, they're all wrong. The piece itself says it's for either: 2 violins, viola, cello and double bass OR: 2 violins, 2 vi...

Re: IMSLP panel at IMS/IAML conference in NYC, June 23, 2015
This is fantastic to see that over 20,000 more scores may be added to the site! I am curious, what was the Baerenwriter representative stance on IMSLP right now? He knew quite well that much of the online version of the Neue Mozart Ausgabe is on IMSLP. He argued that presenting just the music gives...

Is there a RISM template?
RISM previously had only pre-1800 manuscripts listed in their online catalog at http://opac.rism.info They have now completed the online version of their B/1 series (individual composers' works) and some of their A series (multiple composers in a single publication). Is there is a template to link a...

Re: IMSLP panel at IMS/IAML conference in NYC, June 23, 2015
I hope some of you were at the program - it was well done, with representatives from schools in the U.S. and Canada, two institutions in Germany, and a representative of the publisher Bärenreiter. Although a number of people articulated their personal issues with IMSLP, Edward Guo was totally unpert...

IMSLP panel at IMS/IAML conference in NYC, June 23, 2015
For those who will be in New York City on June 23, 2015, there will be a panel discussion concerning IMSLP from 11am-12:30pm (probably at Juilliard). Here's the blurb from the IAML program: IMSLP round table: Success stories and pitfalls for cooperation between IMSLP and music libraries Presented by...

How to find guidance for institutional projects
Thanks to the article by Edward Guo in the current issue of Fontes Artis Musicae , I'm on the verge of getting my institution to officially participate in providing scores to IMSLP. I think that article may convince many institutions--across the world--to contribute to IMSLP. There are project pages...
