Re: Skalkottas out of copyright in EU on Jan 1st

I have just finished uploading everything by Skalkottas that I could get from Issuu, except for the concertino for oboe and chamber orchestra, which is an arrangement by Gunther Schuller (1925 - 2015) and not PD.

Re: NKoda

I am not familiar with Nkoda. Is it possible to print these parts? I haven't seen it written that you can't, but I think that's an obvious no anyway. Here is their own FAQ: https://www.nkoda.com/help/faq And a useful introductory blog post: https://www.scoringnotes.com/reviews/nkoda-review/ It seem...

Re: NKoda

I have seen it written that Nkoda material is "super encrypted", which makes sense, because all of their licensing depends on their ability to prevent people downloading scores from their service. Your best bet may be to screenshot each page on your mobile device.

Re: Skalkottas out of copyright in EU on Jan 1st

Alas, Richard Strauss did not write a concerto for the double bass, so he is irrelevant.

Happy new year! Thanks for the heads up, I've just uploaded his most important composition with more to follow.

Re: Naxos Music Library

Is there anything I can do to help recordings to be added to some new work pages? For instance, Fuchs' fifth serenade is included on a CD with serenades 3 and 4 which are accessible, but No.5 isn't. Also, there are some Viennese classical double bass concertos which have Naxos recordings I used to l...

Re: Theodore Dubois DIXTUOR

BNF's "book adoption" service seems to be defunct because I never got a reply and the staff seem to gloss over my questions about it, but I've added the first published score of the dixtuor from a regular reproduction request: https://imslp.org/wiki/Decet_(Dubois%2C_Th%C3%A9odore) The BNF ...

Re: Bug in the / in the field "born" adding new composer

For me, it doesn't even let me type in numbers; I type out the information in the text field below and then cut/paste, that always works. I suspect that it's trying to filter out characters that don't belong, i.e. anything that isn't either a number or a /, but it does this based on the layout of th...

Re: Onslow string quintets: file uploads gone wrong

I've now added deletion requests to all of the files. Linking back to this thread from the wiki kept breaking the delete template (it may be choking on the ?, & and = in the URL) so I had to use tinyurl...

Re: Alfred, B.16 (Dvořák, Antonín)

I tried searching "dvorak dramatic ouverture" and "dvorak tragic ouverture" and ended up with Alfred as the first result both times, so are you sure there's a problem? The cross-references that you are referring to do exist and show up as an italicized work on the composer's page...

Onslow string quintets: file uploads gone wrong

Something went wrong when I tried to upload some files: first "interal server error", followed by "uploaded file vanished", followed by me re-adding all of the files, and now I'm left with files that were not indexed or have invalid copyright data and therefore can't be added on ...

Re: Could I upload PD music that I typeset from commercially available, close to urtext, edition (c) 2007 ?

This is mostly correct although keep in mind we follow the EU's definition of a limited copyright term of 25 years for Critical/Urtext editions since publication from present year, and that the material does not contain enough original material by any editor in the edition to qualify for copyright ...

Re: Could I upload PD music that I typeset from commercially available, close to urtext, edition (c) 2007 ?

If you did that, then it wouldn't be the first time as IMSLP already hosts such user-created typesets ( including one of my own ). The important part is that your typeset should not contain any creative additions introduced by the urtext edition (such as fingerings, phrasings, interpretative marking...
