"those who support the work we are doing...."

Post by cosmograph »

Quote:"UE greatly values its standing with serious musicians, and would hate to think this could be jeopardised by a minor legal dispute. From discussions with musicians around the world, we are happy that those who support the work we are doing are not going to change their mind simply due to the failure of yet another internet start-up."

What about asking some of UE's "featured composers" still alive - among them Pierre Boulez, Wolfgang Rihm, Arvo Pärt, Harrison Birtwistle and many others - personally for a statement concerning the issue to bring light into the term "those who support the work we are doing....". ?

Regardless of whether they dislike what is happening or not, I doubt they will jeopardize there relationship with UE...

How could it "jeopardize their relastionship" if they indicate that they consider the publisher had behaved like a boorish bully?

Would UE really deny themselves future profits from a "featured composer" by refusing to publish their work? UE certainly is not the only music publishing company in the world, so any composer dropped by them would simply go elsewhere.
