Convert djvu to pdf?

Hi everybody!

I recently found a number of old scores (mainly editions from ~1600) here http://www.bibliotekacyfrowa.pl/dlibra, among them e.g. the 1615 edition of Monteverdi's Orfeo. However, they offer all their scores in djvu. I tried to convert L'Orfeo to pdf using djview4, but this created a >300MB document from a 15MB document. So I'd like to know if there is some more effective way to create pdfs from djvu (using Linux) or if we could allow djvus again on IMSLP.

You have to install djview djvulibre-plugin .
Djview has an option:export as...
The second way is imagemagik by convert command: convert yourfile.djvu -monochrome -compress Group4 yourfile.pdf
Third way:Install gscan2pdf and after inport your djvu and export it in the way you like using a proper compression.
Usually djvu files are 10 time smaller than pdf so it's normal a pdf is bigger so many times if you want a small pdf you have to convert your djvu to tiff and than compress Group4 monochrome all files and than convert to pdf.

I answer to Boccaccio. The question on my discussion page was:How can I obtain a small pdf from a djvu file?
For all about Monteverdi file here : http://imslp.org/wiki/L%27orfeo%2C_favo ... C_Claudio)
I did this:
Unix sistem:

Install djvu viewer and firefox djvu plugin.
This viewer has an option:export as.....and here you can choose (pdf tiff png etc) but you must flag the options "force bitonal G4 compression".
I told that file was buggy because when I choose export as a pdf I obteined a white file. So I decided to convert djvu to tiff (G4 compression),I opened the tiff multipage file with Okular and I printed it to pdf.
This way usually works very well with all files ....but i told you that file was buggy .....because here and there I found some little white stains instead of notes......   so I switched to

Windows xp:

I installed djvu viewer and I printed that file by a virtual pdf printer flagging the option "print colors like black".This is the file you find on imslp.

Usually all works perfectly on unix sistems too.I tried on a Mozart quartet file found on that site and all worked well.
To bypass that problem about Montevedi Orfeo.djvu on unix sistems you should do this (but it's a long way):
Open djvu file by okular (okular is a djvu reader too) , select a page at once (by selection tool) and save as png. After that convert all your files to pdf.(but you need alot of time)
Ciao

There are several pieces of software that'll allow you to read the files. Check out http://djvu.org/links/
