Transforming landscape scores into portrait scores?

Post by coulonnus »

Landscape AKA oblong scores do not lend themselves to booklet printing. Indeed I'm not aware of paper of the size of 2 landscape sheets put side by side. And printers!

Because of this I transformed a landscape score into a portrait one, changing 2 original lines into 3, as can be seen here http://imslp.org/wiki/Gaitilla_de_mano_ ... ti%C3%A1n) It takes a lot of time, and sometimes page turns still need to be optimized. And it is not perfect.

I believe I am capable to design an application to help to do this job - not a short term project - but is there any interest? Many typesetters still elect to produce oblong scores.
