Different pieces, same opus number (Czerny Op. 261 is called 101 Exercises, but also 125 Passagenübungen))

I have an edition of Czerny's 101 Exercises Op. 261 from 1930 that I'd like to upload, however, right now there's the 125 Passagenübungen which include all 101 exercises as well as a couple of new ones. I assume Czerny wrote 101 first and then added 24 more later on. Should I create a new page for this? I'm not really sure what to do about that. As well as that, since this edition is from 1930 I'm pretty sure it's all copyright free, though it'd be nice to get a confirmation on that.

Also, the title page only looks good when in greyscale, is it okay to have one page in greyscale and the rest in black/white?

There are 125 Passageübungen in https://imslp.org/wiki/125_Passagen%C3% ... y%2C_Carl) Where does the information about 101 pieces come from?

Cover: I would post this volume with a black/white cover and the grayscale cover on a single page.

The cover says "101 Exercises" and Op. 261, as can be seen here https://i.imgur.com/mJiwujq.jpg. Also, places like Amazon sell both 125 and 101 both under the same op number, 261. For example, see https://www.amazon.co.uk/125-EXERCISES- ... 309&sr=8-1 and https://www.amazon.co.uk/101-Exercises- ... 309&sr=8-2

It's not as unusual as you might think. Johann Strauss Jr., Louis Morou Gottschalk, Antonin Dvorak and IIRC, Joachim Raff all have examples of doubling up on the OP number. There's a few possible reasons --- the composer may want to supress something and replace it with a different one as the 'official' Op, they might have come from different publishers who made the numbering decision....hell in Gottschalk's case some pieces have multiple numbers from separate publishers.

The thing is that I don't want to create a new page for it because the first 101 exercises are the same. I agree with your idea of "suppressing" a work, it looks like Czerny went back and added 24 more at some later date because the first 101 ones in the 125 Passagenübungen are identical, but the title "101 Exercises" was catchier for whatever reason and stuck.

Also, in my edition, there are subtitles for each exercise detailing what it's for, a bit like in one of the ones on IMSLP right now, but instead of at the front, it's above every individual one.

So, should I create a new page for the 101 or what would be the best approach?

Put the 101 into the page with the 125. They will be a selection thereof like e.g. Fantasia No.1 in https://imslp.org/wiki/6_Fantasyen_(Noo ... thoni_van)
