Bruno Walter - Mahler 1 arrangement

Post by Yagan Kiely »

I have a Four Hand piano reduction of Mahler's first symphony arranged by Bruno Walter "Universal Edition No. 947" There is no other useful imformation on the PDF...

From that information, does anyone know if it is in PD?

If the plate number is 947 (plate number and edition number appear to be simultaneous in UE's case), the publication date would be ca.1901-05. UE issued more than 1000 titles in their first 3-4 years. I do recall reading how this was one of the first things Walter did as a young student under Mahler. It would be PD in the USA, but not elsewhere.

Okay, thanks for that :)

The IMSLP man page is on the US server right? If so I'll upload it soon.

Dear mr/mrs,

Do you still own the pdf-file of Walters piano-4-hand-version of Mahlers symphony nr 1?If you do, could you send me by e-mail een copy of this adaptation for piano. I am very much interested in it. And I cannot find it anywhere on the internet, here in Europe.

Thanks so much,

I cannot find it anywhere on the internet, here in Europe.
Which is why it's not on the site, because it is under copyright in Europe. Furthermore, we do not allow private trade of files, especially those under copyright, on or off the forum.
