I'm not sure whether the SwWV numbers by Leonhardt, Annegarn and Noske are considered more accurate than Grove, but there is no such work in Grove under Sweelinck's page, and a comment on our work page says "Regarded (in some sources?) as doubtful and more likely to be by Scheidt."

In fact there is a work in Grove's work list for Scheidt: "Paduan imitatio ball. del grand duca, a 4, bc", and it has been recorded under Scheidt's name, at least twice:

Should I move this page to Scheidt's name?

[edit] Having downloaded Seiffert's 1943 edition of the keyboard works, the title here is "Variations on Dances", but it may be a section heading, not a real title. It certainly is in variations form, but I think the Scheidt is as well, so it still could have been written by Scheidt, not Sweelinck. In any case, Eric Schissel has written comments on this page about the unreliability of that collection being considered accurate or complete, though it was thought to be so in 1943.

No. The tune is unlikely to be original to Scheidt either. It was a very popular one which was set by a fair number of composers. Even if the original composer is known, the arrangement by Sweelinck is more in the nature of a fantasia upon the melody, so it should still appear under his category. A similar case can be found with all of the differing treatments of Crequillon's Un gay bergier.
