Orchestration search

Post by normanclanger »

Hi - it would be very useful to search by orchestration - i.e. look for 2222 4230 etc. to determine what can be played by a particular ensemble.

I know for most pieces, this can be derived by looking at the listed parts. I was wondering whether this data could be farmed & provided as a searchable field?

Happy to help with the development if there is the interest.

Thanks

part of the problem with this is that there are several systems for notation of orchestation, some much more precise (and therefore more cumbersome) than others. Eventually we'll come up with a template which handles it all, but I imagine it would be a fairly complex one to engineer.
