Would be Possible to Add Female Composers Category?

Post by danilochaib »

Hello,

My name is Danilo Chaib, cello teacher at Escola de Música de Brasília.
I am playing and encouraging my students to play works from female composers.
I did some research and found some, as E. Smyth, L. Farrenc, and others.
Nevertheless, this has made my students thriving to find more about female composers, and every day we find someone, or even adapt a piece or other (for example, the Violin Sonatas by Margarethe Danzi to Cello Sonatas, etc.)

Based on this, I thought that might be nice for other to find easily here at the IMSLP female composers.

So, here my topic queston:

Would be possible to add a category so one can search by female composers?

Not sure if this might help this project, but I see that wikipedia has done some work about it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_f ... birth_date
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_f ... rs_by_name

Thank you,
Danilo Chaib.
