SC ? (Puccini)

Puccini's operas are followed by an SC number. Anybody know what this stands for? I really have tried searching but I'm coming up empty handed.

I guess it's a short for Schickling Catalogue, being Dieter Schickling the author of "Giacomo Puccini. Catalogue of the Works" published by Bärenreiter:
