Strauss, Serenade, Op. 7. Error in parts. Link to Horns 3 and 4 brings up parts for Horns I and 2.

It seems to just be the way the publisher labeled the parts. Horns 1 and 2 are in E-flat and horns 3 and 4 are in B-flat. The linked parts are correct but the publisher labeled horns 3 and 4 also as 1 and 2.

There was a time when the horns in a different key were considered a different "instrument" or "section", so starting again with number 1 was normal. I know it doesn't seem logical to us . . .
