Heart of Oak misattribution

Post by Jaquick »

I just created Heart of Oak (Arne, Thomas Augustine). But then I received this, from Dr. Douglas Anderson, Marietta College:
"BTW, the attribution to Arne on the print itself is incorrect. I've read somewhere, but cannot put my hands on it now, that this is a known misattribution. The actual composer of the tune is William Boyce (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_of_Oak). Perhaps Arne made the arrangement or added the flute part.

There does appear to be another Arne (Michael, not Thomas) who was involved in the creation of Harlequin's Invasion, a pantomime for which Heart of Oak was originally composed.

It matches the arrangement posted on the Boyce page. Could somebody with more mod-fu than I switch it over there, maybe with a cross-ref from Arne? Thanks.
