Better quality scan - leave the old scan on the work page?

I uploaded a new scan of the same edition of a work, because the old scan was littered with handwritten notes and many pages were clipped. I also added bar numbers to the new scan, because the published edition had neither bar numbers nor rehearsal marks.

Is there a good reason to leave the old scans on the work page? The present page is rather confusing; you can't easily tell which version to download. I can of course edit the work page and remove the link to the old scan, but maybe there's a policy about this.

I considered "upload a new version of this file", but the upload screen stated explicitly that you're not supposed to upload sheet music through that form.
