Looking for Shostakovich

Post by lfitts »

I am interested in a couple of things... Shostakovich Preludes, piano reductions of ballet scores, and Latin American composers. Shostakovich may not have made the cutoff date for public domain, and except for the Three Dances, not much is available. I have been on the Sibley Library Site, rowy.net, as well as Virtual Sheet Music, the Variations Project, and Sheet Music Archives. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

IMSLP is an incredible resource for musicians!! Thank you.

Well, Shostakovich is pretty much like what the composer page says, only Ops.1-6 are in the public domain. There is no way around it, and frankly I don't think Ops.1-6 would be what many people are looking for (not even the first symphony is included).

All in all, don't expect much Shostakovich... at least not legally.
