Marion Bauer

Post by Ravpapa »

There is a mistake here, for sure. The composer of "The Epitaph of a Butterfly (Bauer, Marion)" is not the same Marion Bauer as the composer of "Duo for Oboe and Clarinet, Op.25 (Bauer, Marion)". Obviously, someone other than the avant-garde instructor of composition at Juilliard is not the composer of these parlor ditties.

I would fix this myself, but I don't know quite what to do.

The same Marion Bauer composed both pieces, thus no need to fix anything. I recommend this link to begin exploring her fascinating life...

Just came across this thread. I studied in my youth with Marion Bauer's 2-piano partner, Anne Hull, at Juilliard Prep. Miss Hull always had great things to say about Ms. Bauer.
