Berg's Works

Post by dwil9798 »

Are some of Berg's works on this site newer editions? I notice that the String Quartet Op. 3 is unblocked but that the 4 Pieces Op. 5 is still blocked. Any help?

One is public domain in the US, the other is not. This is only a temporary setting but we're unsure how long it will be in effect.

I could be wrong on this one, but I am pretty sure Op. 5 was published in 1920, therefore making it PD in the US.

It was first published then (by Schlesinger), but since I'm not a Berg scholar I can't tell if the present edition is a reprint from that date or not. Maybe Carolus can chime in and say one way or another.
