Australian Law Report - Creative Commons

Post by aldona »

Not sure how close our copyright laws are to those of Canada, but I have just heard a very interesting report/debate on ABC radio about Creative Commons.

It certainly gave me a lot to think about and is well worth listening to. (One of the speakers was Canadian.)

“all great composers wrote music that could be described as ‘heavenly’; but others have to take you there. In Schubert’s music you hear the very first notes, and you know that you’re there already.” - Steven Isserlis

I know that we have Life +70 starting from 2005, but was not made retroactive, and that it was only November 2006 that the use of iPods became legal. (Backing up CDs that you own etc. etc.)
