About copyright

Post by Cèlia González »

Hi everybody,
I'm new and would like to check before uploading new scores.

This scores are copyright free?

J.S.BACH, Suite in B minor transcription for flute and piano. Copyright 1945 Rudall Carte
P. JEANJEAN, Etudes modernes. Copyright Alfonse Leduc 1948
B. BARTOK, Hungarian folk song settings, arranged by D. Goldstein. Copyright Galaxy music corporation 1962.

Thanks

A little more information is needed in order to determine with confidence whether they are OK to post on IMSLP. All three are probably under copyright in the US, I can tell you.

1. Who arranged the Bach for flute and piano?
2. Is there an editor listed for the Jeanjean? The possibility is suggested by the 1948 copyright date, since Jeanjean died in 1928. If no editor, certainly, this is fine to upload to IMSLP.
3. Probably not OK. Who is "D. Goldstein"---do you have the full first name? If we can't confirm a pre-1967 date of death, it's best to avoid posting this one.
