John Field, Fantaisie sur l’Andante de Martini

Post by nomopomo576 »

Hello,

This is my very first post—apologies for any faux pas.

I'm looking forJohn Field's Fantaisie sur l’Andante de Martini, op.3, A (H15), hopefully a scan of the first edition (St. Petersburg, 1811) but other early editions (e.g. Moscow, 1837) would be of interest too. Surprisingly, it doesn't seem to be in Temperley's two volumes of Field's music in "The London Pianoforte School" Garland reprints series.

No itemized library catalogue entries are to be found online either.

Many thanks for any help!

There are Worldcat pre-1900 results but https://www.worldcat.org/search?q=ti%3A ... dblist=638 but you have to find a library accepting to put it online.

Thank you, coulonnus—that's next level WorldCat mastery! Another thing to wonder about from that results list is whether the theme is Martini's or Martín y Soler's... 🤷‍♂️

PS: Thanks to you and your list I was able to locate and order a copy of the 1811 (St. Petersburg, 2nd edn) from the British Library. It'll take a few weeks to process, but I suppose after that it'll be available for viewing online...
