1838 edition of the Kreisleriana

Post by macula »

Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone has a copy of the early 1838 edition of Schumann's Kreisleriana op. 16. The work was drastically revised in 1848, and then once again a few years later. The current Henle edition, for example, is based on the revised, 1848 version for the body, the original version included only in the form of endnotes and annotations.

Any ideas anyone?

Thank you.

I've been searching high and low for this score as well — have you found it yet?

I see several entries in Worldcat for the 1838 Tobias Haslinger issue. A half dozen libraries hold copies. Kreisleriana is my favorite Schumann--I'd be interested in seeing this as well.
