Finnish Library Access!

Post by jujimufu »

Hey everyone!

This is an offer, not a request :) I am now studying again in Helsinki, so I have access to a few libraries here in Finland.

If anyone can find a score through the links below that they think will be worth scanning for IMSLP, just send me an e-mail (prits.kaka, at gmail.com) with the details. Depending on the volume of requests I might limit it to a certain number of scores per week/month, but let's see how it goes for now.

Also it would be very helpful if you could already confirm whether the score is in public domain already before requesting.

Here are the libraries I have access to:

Sibelius Academy Library - not massive, but entirely music-oriented (click "limit to" and then "Sibelius Academy Library, Helsinki", the other ones I can't access so easily): https://arsca.linneanet.fi/vwebv/searchBasic?sk=en_FI
Helsinki Metropolitan Libraries: http://www.helmet.fi/en-US
Helsinki University Library (biggest in helsinki, but for all subjects not just music): https://helka.linneanet.fi/cgi-bin/Pweb ... PAGE=First

I can't delete / edit this topic, but as this is no longer valid and four years on I keep receiving emails (!) with requests to scan stuff, I'd like to just put a note out that this is no longer the case, and I can no longer scan stuff from those libraries. :)

I guess that your best bet would be to try to contact people in Helsinki or to book a ticket there for now... The original poster isn't there anymore, and other Finns may not see the thread.
