Variations sur un thème de Händel, Op.29 - Earlier score

Post by Graham1973 »

I'm planning to write a wikipedia article on the Moscheles Variations sur un thème de Händel, Op.29 and decided to have a look at the score to check the tempo changes between the variations only to find that the score on the IMSLP dates from the 1960's and uses metronome markings (http://imslp.org/wiki/Variations_sur_un ... ,_Ignaz%29) rather than tempo markings. Having seen how tempo can change over time I'd be interested in seeing a 19th century version of the score if one exists?

Library search engines (e.g., Worldcat) seems to confirm that they exist: published by Richault in Paris and by the Royal Harmonic Institution in London. Also included in a collection published by Schlesinger in Paris. Copies apparently available in UK, USA, The Netherlands, Italy.
