I've talked with Carolus regarding the formatting of non-commercial recordings on IMSLP. I would like the non-commercial recordings to be a separate section on the page, so we have:

==Music Files==
==Non-Commercial Recordings==
==Commercial Recordings==
etc.

Adding the recordings straight into the Music Files section is probably a bad idea because it takes away the flexibility that is required for changing page design, etc later on. Instead, using a list is a better idea.

I have therefore added a |Recordings= function to the work page. Play around with it

I don't understand where this is. Is it supposed to be created automatically on every work page?

In any case, would this change create a system-wide way to index work pages that include non-commerical recordings? If not, there's this category (with cut-and-paste code) that I created and mentioned a few weeks ago:

As I said - I already changed those
Basically, I just guessed (got lucky the first time) and found out that if you put "|Recordings=" below the file entries but above "WORK INFO", then it works out, and you put the stuff under there.

Now, all pages with |Recordings= will automatically be included in the Category you specified.

MAJOR UPDATE

Due to an unforeseen programming issue, I've changed |Recordings= to |NCRecordings= for work pages. See Perlnerd's talk page for details. There is no other change except for the name.

No problems, all changed, and now the category has everything.
Everyone feel free to look at youtube for some other old recordings - I found some nice ones with Scriabin that seemed PD, and one with Debussy that was very enlightening as to the interpretation.

Thanks for converting the coding for most of the pages I had changed. I've fixed the others.

Is there a way to make the recordings-category page list the work pages in "normal" order? (I.e., ignoring initial articles, numbers, and accent marks)

That should already be the case.

I think it's the pages that have the category link explicitly in the source that are sorted in the wrong order. Removing the link from the page seems to fix the issue.

This could actually be a problem for example for those pages that are listed under multiple composers. This is usually achieved by manually adding composer category links to the page. Is there an automatic way to still sort them correctly?

I've added several music-performances of Schubert-Lied. But on this page http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Work_pag ... recordings it is only be seen when I'm logged in. Is there any restriction?

For unregistered users the pages are cached to reduce server load. That means that the page updates itself only after the cached version has expired, which should take at most 3 days.
