Hi I tried to find the music sheets on the websites you mentionned but I haven't found the 'rapsodia cubana' from Lecuona (only the one from Albeniz)
Please could you help me ? I really like this music !

Do you mean that the publisher has agreed for digitized scans of the score to be distributed freely over the internet, or are you referring to greater availability of the printed score?

Actually it is, since less than 50 years has elapsed from Lecuona's death, and in many countries the copyright will not expire for at least 70 years from his death.

And since it is (completely) under copyright, the copyright owner is the only one who can give the permission for a work to be distributed freely, and most of the time copyright is assigned to the publisher who first publishes it, and he usually owns the copyright until the term of copyright runs out (unless the composer wishes to assign it to a different publisher).

One cannot simply typeset an out-of-print edition, "publish" it, and then distribute it freely. So one question is: is the publisher you are working with the copyright holder?

(Obviously, if the original publisher is simply going to put it into print again as a for-sale item, then we only need a link to where interested people can purchase it.)

I'm working with the publisher on this to get it as a sale or rental item. The publisher does not have this music although there are two publishers that handle Lecuona's music in the USA.
