Rating stars
Can someone, administrator, etc., explain what is the use of the 5 stars besides a score namefile (originally for rating the quality of a scan), except actually for giving some nasty troll a handy tool to disgrace pretty decent, carefully typesetted scores by putting anonymously and viciously a single star, or maybe two, as if that score was some sh_t, and should not be considered as quality material? This is unfair. As a regular victim of such troll abuse, I strongly suggest those useless stars would disappear from IMSLP pages ASAP.

Re: Rating stars
I believe many 1-star ratings are put by robots. The first time you click on the stars of a score there is a message "Please rate ONLY..." but afterwards when you click on the stars of another score your mouse click is taken into account without this warning.
And rating stars besides my MusiXTeX engraving files are funny!

ASAP
Considering I am not very active at the Usenet, and as so I have not familiarity to such abbreviations, I want to inquire... What is "ASAP"?Notenschreiber wrote:Agreed!!!Keanur wrote:I strongly suggest those useless stars would disappear from IMSLP pages ASAP

Re: Rating stars
Unfortunately, this is nothing new. Several long-time contributors and several administrators have complained about the abuse and resulting uselessness of the rating system in both these forums and on the wiki. Sadly it seems that these complaints constantly fall upon deaf ears.

Re: Rating stars
Forgive the off-topic, but who the hell rated me as notabot: YES notabot2: Bot in this forum server? Same rating quality as for the scores!

coulonnus,
I've gone into the forum control panel and updated those settings in your profile. I don't have any idea how they would have gotten set incorrectly.
